  • Navigating conversational SEO: crafting user-centric content for enhanced relevance

Users are becoming more conversational in their search queries, utilizing natural language when interacting with search assistants. Consequently, our content strategy must adapt to address user inquiries in a more detailed manner, tailoring texts to respond to a myriad of queries starting with words like "how," "why," and other colloquial expressions. Let's delve into a child-centric example: "How to care for a newborn?", "What to do if your child is unusually passive?", "How to handle the tantrums of a two-year-old?", "What to choose: a stroller or a baby sling for an infant?", "How to teach a child to brush their teeth without tears?", "Share your experience: How to improve a baby's sleep?". We're rephrasing digital marketing terms like "digital marketing strategy" to "how to develop an effective digital marketing strategy" and transforming "SEO optimization" into "how to optimize a website for better rankings in 2024 search results." Instead of the generic "website design," or for "How to create an attractive design for your website."

Generating such user-centric queries is an art, and AI, particularly Perplexity, serves as an invaluable ally in this endeavor. Engaging Perplexity with questions like "What new SEO methods will be relevant in 2024?" or "What are the current fashion trends for children this season?" yields a treasure trove of responses. Understanding how AI rephrases queries provides insights into user search behavior, enabling us to meet and surpass user expectations, earning favor with Google.

Optimizing content for these conversational queries is not just a strategy; it's a commitment to relevance and enhanced positioning in search results. Vigilantly monitor keywords for shifts in user intentions, and incorporate question-answer dynamics and conversational phrases into your strategic approach. This synergy ensures that your content not only resonates with users but also aligns seamlessly with Google's evolving expectations.

  • Giving more attention to E -E-A-T

Signals Gone are the days when proper keyword research and placement helped us climb the rankings. Generic responses and traditional search approaches are no longer sufficient. Now, the leaders will be those who emphasize deep expertise and genuinely valuable content. I feel like Google is taking us to a new level, making us compete with AI. It seems that, among all content creators, Google is trying to turn us into professional journalists who conduct real, detailed investigations on the topics they write about. That's why it's crucial to focus on E- E-A-T signals in our SEO strategy: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.

Experience signifies the author's expertise in a specific area. Google values content from authors who have expertise in the topics they cover. Compare content like "This conditioner gently affects the hair, giving it silkiness and softness" to "I've been using this conditioner for a month and can confidently say it's one of my favorite hair care products." In the first case, it's more like a product card description, and in the second, it's a human experience, presented from a first-person perspective.

And, by the way! In the new era of SGE, first-person narratives take a central place. This is because Google reads it as real human experience, which is impossible to replicate for artificial intelligence unless given the right prompt. First-person stories add liveliness and a sense of authenticity. That's why it's still essential to use conversational language and meanings that highlight your personal experience.

Expertise. Regardless of the theme, if you demonstrate that your level of knowledge is higher than any other source, Google will identify your site as authoritative. So, if it's a medical article, it should be written by a doctor. If it's a computer assembly guide, it should be by an engineer. Certainly, not all experts are good at writing and structuring information. In that case, find a professional journalist who interviews the experts and then finalizes the text with their inputs.

Authoritativeness. When people seek answers online, they look for authority they can trust. They want to trust the experience of these people or brands and be sure they are the best experts to turn to. In 2024, the authority of sites will have a significant impact on search rankings. To boost this, create a natural backlink profile from authoritative platforms, improving your website's reputation and search ranking.

Trustworthiness or "the ability to rely on honesty or truthfulness," is an indicator of trust in your brand, website, or content. It's one thing to create a lot of content on the internet, and another to earn trust. What do we do in this case? Provide reliable information using reputable sources for gathering information and reference them in our materials; mention other authoritative sources and try to get backlinks from them, enhancing our authority in the eyes of Google; ensure the security of the user experience by using secure HTTPS connections; maintain user information confidentiality; collect positive user reviews and respond to comments; support quality UX; adhere to ethical standards.

  • Always include citations and links to original sources

This point could have been squeezed into the previous one because it contributes to the site's authority, but I want to discuss it separately. The thing is, including citations and links to original sources has several important reasons in the context of SEO.

Firstly, citing original sources allows you to confirm the authenticity and accuracy of the provided information. This builds trust in your content and enhances your reputation as a reliable resource.

Secondly, linking to authoritative sources indicates that you want to provide users with verified data. This can strengthen the perception of your site as an expert and authoritative source in its field.

Thirdly, including links to original sources helps improve the SEO parameters of your content. Search engines evaluate the quality of content, and links to authoritative resources can bolster your position in search results.

Fourthly, if your content is based on information from other sources, citing them helps avoid issues with content duplication. This is crucial for SEO, as search engines may negatively respond to duplicates.

And fifthly, citing original sources can emphasize the expertise of your content, showing that you rely on authoritative opinions and research in your field.

In summary, including citations and links to original sources is a strategy that contributes to the improvement of the quality, authority, and SEO parameters of your content.

  • Striving for diversity in content types to improve visibility

In essence, we employ text, video, or photo content, graphics, and audio. Here's an example of how I distribute content in various formats for a children's clothing brand. I create one-minute video reviews for dresses, conduct interviews featuring customer feedback, produce instructional videos on coordinating dresses by color, texture, prints, and styles. Additionally, I host a show on creating unforgettable photoshoots for daughters and short video snippets of a happy girl in a new dress with her mom. When it comes to text, I write a blog covering topics such as trends in children's fashion, instilling taste in girls, teaching daughters how to mix and match clothing items, and guiding girls on determining their color type. This blog serves as a valuable resource for both mothers and their daughters. Naturally, when crafting articles for the blog, I incorporate self-created collages, essentially utilizing the image format. In essence, the takeaway is clear: diverse content can attract more attention and cater to the varied preferences of users. For instance, some prefer video reviews, while others favor reading textual information.

  • Utilizing structured data structured data is certainly not a novelty in SEO

However, with the advent of SGE, it becomes a crucial marker in 2024. Structured data helps Google better understand your content, leading to improved rankings in SGE carousels. While having structured data makes your content eligible for display in Google's enhanced search results, it doesn't guarantee the appearance of an enhanced snippet. Remember that when selecting the display format for search results, search engines consider more than just markup. Therefore, always strive to make your content as useful, high-quality, and relevant as possible. 5. Managing the Reputation of Our Content Brand reputation is another vital marker for optimizing content under SGE! Building a good online reputation involves actively collecting positive reviews, engaging in social media activity, and proactively addressing negative reviews. Consider launching a PR campaign to promote positive mentions of your brand and to build backlinks. All these actions signal to search engines that you are creating valuable, up-to-date content.
